Abstract
Transporter proteins are crucial entities within the human body, facilitating the movement of essential materials such as hormones and ions into and out of cells. Disruptions to their function can profoundly impact health and overall quality of life. Therefore, comprehending the structure of transporter proteins is paramount in understanding their mechanism of action. By identifying key residues involved in their function, it will be possible to pinpoint potential sites for therapeutic intervention. This understanding not only sheds light on fundamental biological processes but also holds promise for the development of novel treatments for various health conditions associated with transporter dysfunction. This process of structure identification will be achieved using cryo electron microscopy.
