Call for Proposals for use of Swedish High Performance Computing Resources

The Swedish National Infrastructure for Computing, SNIC is a metacenter sorting under the Swedish Science Council. SNIC has been given the task of coordinating and developing high end computing capacity for Swedish research. The SNIC computer resources are hosted by the member centres.

You are hereby invited to apply for nationally available SNIC resources at HPC2N, NSC, PDC, UPPMAX and SweGrid. Submissions should be made via the SNAC on-line application procedure.

The national application procedure for high performance computing resources allows for co-ordinated review of proposals, optimized use of the available resources, as well as a unified application procedure. Note that resources can be requested at one or more centres in the same application.

Proposed projects will be reviewed by the Swedish National Allocations Committee (SNAC), which is now responsible to SNIC. SNAC will issue calls for proposals every 6 months. The present call regards applications for allocations effective 1 July 2007.

The deadline for SNAC proposal submission is April 30, 2007 at 16:00. At that time, all access to the on-line application system will be closed. Incomplete or late proposals will be discarded.

Before submitting your application please read the detailed instructions available at http://wwww.snac.vr.se/instructions.htm, note that projects requesting smaller allocations should contact the centers directly (current limits are 2000 CPU hours/month for most systems - see the instructions).

The on-line proposal system represents a unified application form for all national HPC resources and is located at http://www.shpc.net/snac/submit.
