The HPC Technology Roadmap: Status Report 7 (September 20, 2001)

All interviews within the HPC Technology Roadmap Study are completed. This means that Compaq, Sgi, Sun, IBM, Cray, NEC and Fujitsu have all been interviewed regarding their view on trends which will influence high performance computing architectures in the next 5 to 10 years.

The work to compile the results from the interviews is proceeding well. There is a lot of information to go through, which have caused this part of the study to take somewhat longer than originally expected.

The next step in the study will be to evaluate the results from the interviews. This evaluation will focus on how the expected development of architectures will influence applications software, especially in the area of molecular sciences.
