Abstract

As a Professor at Uppsala University I am doing research in two major projects financed by VR in the field of face recognition and age classification from facial photos. I also do handwritten text recognition in three diffident projects at Uppsala University. Besides ruining experiments myself, I supervise about six master/bachelor thesis projects per year and three projects in the Data analysis course, which all need compute resources for training and evaluation. Up to now, we have been running on ALVIS, but on the request from my students and suggestions from people in the HPC community we want to start running on Berzelius. One of my PhD students is already running a project at Berzelius, which more in the field of medicine.
