Abstract

In DETEX, we will implement a machine learning-based code for detecting extreme weather events, providing relevant variables that trigger these events as input. Multiparameter tunning of the machine learning code is envisioned, so the detection is optimized for prediction. This detection algorithm will be employed in large climate datasets for historical and future periods, to extract extreme events for observed data and future projections.
