Abstract

The project is aimed at the search for rare-earth-free (RE-free) and rare-earth-lean permanent magnets (PM). Alena Vishina (AV) and Madhura Marathe (MM) are planning to consider different materials. Alena Vishina will investigate RE-lean promising magnetic structures, such as RE2(Me1Me2)17(H,B,N) (Me stands for metal) and REMe5, with RE = La and Ce, which are more abundant than other RE. She will also continue applying her data-mining techniques to different magnetic materials. Madhura Marathe will continue her previous research into Heisler alloys.
