We have installed some rather good programs on the C90 for the solution of ordinary differential equations. These codes have been developed by Alan C Hindmarsh at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. They are all in the normal Cray precision, that is the source code is in single precision.
SLSODE Solution of ordinary differential equations with a method based on fix step length and interpolation, may also be used for stiff problems. NLSODE This is a special version of the above which permits multitasking. SVODE Solution of ordinary differential equations with a method based on variable coefficients, may also be used for stiff problems. SVODPK Solution of ordinary differential equations with a method based on variable coefficients using a preconditioned Krylov-method. More difficult to use, recommended only for large stiff problems.These are all compiled (with Cray Fortran 90 version 2) and available on the C90 in the directory
/usr/local/lib/nsc/lapack/ode/with the names slsode.o, nlsode.o, svode.o, svodpk.o
In order to save storage on the Cray the documentation is available on ftp.nsc.liu.se, in the directory
/pub/ode/You will there find the complete single precision source code (not to be used on 32 bit computers!), test programs (with names ending with _ex.f), results from test runs on a Cray-1 (names ending with _ex.res) and user instructions (names ending with .txt). In addition you will find the special demonstration programs nlstest.f and slsdem.f.
