NAG Libraries

NAG has a longstanding worldwide reputation for the excellence of its numerical and statistical libraries. Industry, universities and research institutes rely upon the accuracy, reliability and robustness of these libraries to solve complex problems in areas such as research, engineering, life and earth sciences, and financial analysis. They know that when using the libraries they will save development time and protect their investment in application development.

NAG offers libraries in Fortran 77, Fortran 90, C as well as an SMP Library and a Parallel Library for shared memory and distributed memory parallel computing respectively.

Developing robust, reliable and accurate code for areas covered by the NAG libraries takes many years of effort. Using NAG libraries has regularly been proven to be the most cost effective way of solving numerical and statistical problems, reducing programming time, whilst increasing productivity and confidence.

NAG Fortran Libraries on the T3E at NSC

We have two different Fortran numerical program libraries from NAG available on the T3E, plus C Header Files for one of them. The libraries are all in the default Cray single floating point precision, eight bytes (double precision IEEE floating point precision), which is sometimes called real by NAG.

NAG Fortran Libraries on the SGI 3800 at NSC

There are two different Application Binary Interfaces (ABI) available. The default is "n32" except for the SMP library, contact NSC if you wish to use "64". Each of these has its own version of the compiled libraries.

We have three different Fortran numerical program libraries from NAG available on the SGI 3800, plus C Header Files for one of them. The Fortran 77 and Fortran 90 libraries were upgraded to Mark 19 and Release 4, respectively, on November 12, 2001. The upgraded libraries are in directories with slightly different names than before.

The libraries are all in the SGI double floating point precision, eight bytes (double precision IEEE floating point precision), which is sometimes called real by NAG.

Assistance and support

Questions are welcome to Bo Einarsson, who has more than 25 years experience with the NAG libraries. You can also contact the NAG directly, either using email to infodesk@nag.co.uk or the form.
