Procurement of a new High Performance Computing Facility for NSC
NSC (National Supercomputer Centre) will procure a High Performance Computing Facility (HPCF). The new HPCF is intended for producing operational numerical weather forecasts in a joint operation between Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) and Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET) as well as for research and development for both institutes. We refer to the list of ongoing procurements at Linkoping University for full information.

PRACE Call for Proposals for Tier-1 access (DECI-12)
The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) invites European researchers to apply for access to powerful national (Tier-1) computing resources in Europe. This call is for allocations starting on 1st May, 2014 with a duration of one year. Deadline for applications is on 20th January 2014 at 17.00 CET. Triolith - the fastest supercomputer in the Nordics
The now extended Triolith achieved 407.2 Teraflop/s on the Linpack benchmark which rendered it place 79 on this years November issue of the Top500 list of the fastest supercomputers in the world. A rank that makes it number one in the Nordic countries.

Pre-announcement of an upcoming procurement for MetCoOp
NSC will procure a high performance computing facility during 2014. The new system is intended for producing weather forecasts in a joint operation between Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI) and Norwegian Meteorological Institute (MET) as well as for research and development.
